About Valley Foods
A small store with a big heart for Deer Lodge.
Family owned and operated since 1985, Valley Foods is the corner of Main Street where locals come for fresh meat, fresh bread, and the kind of customer service that makes a grocery run feel like running into a friend.

Our story
40+ years of being the friendliest store in town.
When Valley Foods opened its doors in 1985, the vision was simple: a hometown grocery store where the meat is cut behind the counter, the bread is baked from scratch, and the person ringing you up knows your kids' names. Forty years on, that's still exactly what we are.
Step inside and you'll find a butcher who'll cut steaks to your spec, a bakery that still rolls doughnuts before sunrise, a deli that drops fresh-fried chicken Tuesday through Saturday, and produce hand-picked at delivery. We may be small — but the quality, the prices, and the people are what bring Deer Lodge back week after week.
We're proud to be locally owned and locally run. We sponsor school teams, donate to local fundraisers, and stand in line at the same coffee shops you do. When you shop Valley Foods, your dollars stay right here in our town.

What we believe
Four things we keep promising Deer Lodge.
Hometown first
Every customer is a neighbour. We greet people by name, carry bags to cars without being asked, and keep an open ear for what the community needs next.
Quality you can taste
Montana beef cut in-house, breads baked from scratch every morning, and produce hand-selected at delivery. Quality is the contract we keep with our shoppers.
Local & seasonal
We source local when we can, watch Montana harvests, and stock what real families actually cook with — not what a marketing chart tells us to.
Community involved
Sponsorships, donations, school events, raffles — Valley Foods is woven into Deer Lodge, and that's a responsibility we love carrying.
